Coyle is a champion athlete (and Olympic medalist) with a Product Design & Engineering from Stanford and an MBA from Kellogg), a seasoned executive (former head of customer experience and innovation for a Fortune 500 wireless telecom), an Emmy Winning NBC Sports Producer and Analyst, a 5 time TEDx speaker, a professor at 3 universities and an award-winning author (an Eddie and Azbee) of two books. John is also a world-leading expert in the fields of Innovation, Design Thinking, Strengths, Resiliency, and “Chronoception” - the neuroscience and psychology of time-perception. Ask him how to design “endless summers…"

Superseding these achievements is John’s mastery of the art of storytelling. John frames his talks and workshops through the lens of the Hero’s Journey (or “monomyth”) while elegantly mixing-in data-driven frameworks based on the latest research and science. John is able to emotionally grip his audiences from the opening words and yet leave them empowered with actionable steps and changes.

John's hair-raising tales from his adventures, athletics, businesses and travels - examined through the lens of neuroscience, technology and psychology have created raving fans all around the world (check out his 100+ LinkedIn recommendations here).

John has been the lead keynote speaker in more than 20 countries for clients that include a who’s who of successful enterprises: Arab Bank, Allstate, American Airlines, Aon, BP, Cisco, Coca-Cola, Deloitte, EO, Google, IDEO, JFK International Terminal, Kellogg, McDonalds, Optum, Pepsi, PwC, Stanford, Texas Health, YPO and the Dubai, Omani and Jordanian Royal Families. Key Takeaways here:

  • The best way to unlock human potential and drive growth is to design lives, careers, and teams maximizing strengths rather than fixing weaknesses.

  • The best way to innovate your life and business so you can take on greater challenges and grow is to increase personal resilience.

  • When you design your life around your strengths and cultivate your resilience, you can master "chronoception:" expanding time by creating more meaningful experiences and intense recallable memories

Odd Facts:

John cultivates the world's hottest chili peppers including the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion pepper and Carolina Reaper. He's known for bringing them to his events and "sharing" the heat with his clients.

John is the only person in the world to have worked on the same teams as Jeff Skilling and Ken Lay, consulting for Enron, AND Lance Armstrong, competing on the same cycling team. Considering these enterprises ended up becoming the two greatest frauds perpetrated in modern history, we are not sure what this says about John, but he's seen the ins and outs of some interesting cultures.
